What are Warwickshire Youth Council Elections?

The elections are an opportunity for 11-17 year olds who live or go to school/college in Warwickshire to nominate themselves to become a member of the Warwickshire Youth Council. 

The Youth Council elections are an opportunity to: 

  • To listen to and represent the views of Warwickshire young people 
  • Talk about issues that are important to young people living in Warwickshire and how things can be improved 
  • To meet with MPs and local councillors, organise events, run campaigns, make speeches, hold debates, and ensure the views of young people are listened to by decision makers

If you become an elected member of the Warwickshire Youth Council you are committing to the following:

  • You will be a member of Warwickshire Youth Council for two years from April 2026 – March 2028 or until you turn 18  
  • You are required to attend all monthly meetings on a Tuesday 6:00pm – 8:00pm 
  • The meetings are held face to face at Shire Hall Warwickshire 
  • Extra meetings and events are booked in addition to the monthly meetings which you will be expected to attend 

How to get involved

Complete a Nomination form

When you complete the form, you will be asked a set of questions about why you want to become a Warwickshire Youth Council member, to write your “Manifesto” and list the issues that are most important to you. 

What is a Manifesto?

A Manifesto is your profile with your name and outlines why you want to stand as a candidate and the issues that are important to you. Once you have submitted your Nomination form, we will use the information to create your profile. The Manifesto is what the public will see when they are voting.
